Obituary

Colin Devon Jackson, age 31 of Yorkville IL (formerly Naperville) passed away in the early morning hours of February 7th 2024. Colin died of complications from a pulmonary embolism suffered on January 1st 2024. 

Born June 23rd 1992 Colin suffered from hypotonia and had struggled/fought through life to enjoy normalcy. After earning his diploma from Neuqua Valley HS in 2011 (Naperville IL) he attended the College of DuPage. 

He enjoyed watching sports, especially football, WWE and basketball! A big pastime was  playing video games and spending time & texting with friends & family. His greatest joy’s came from the 8 years he spent a week or 2 at FLIPFEST Summer Gymnastics camp on Lake Frances in TN with family and friends. It was the place he felt at home and was a part of everything with some amazing people. He was so touched by them as he seemed to touch the lives of everyone he came in contact with. 

He is proceeded in death by his Father, Michael; paternal Grandmother Doris Starks; Aunts, Erin Murphy and Amanda (Phil) Burrows and his Paternal Grandfather, Michael J. Murphy.

He is survived by his mother Shannon Murphy; brothers: Nathan (Allesandra) Kyle (Gina) Brandon (Maitana) and Mark. Sister, Brittany; nieces: Leila, Camila, Lydia. Nephews, Leo and Weston. Brother in law, Matthew Delk, Grandparents Harris & Pamela Hansen, Tampa Murphy, Great Grandmother, Helen Talty and a number of cousins, Great Aunts / Uncles. 

A Celebration of Life will be held week of February 20th- details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to assist with final expenses, unpaid medical /transportation expenses. Colin began hospitalisation in mid August - since that time had been in 3 hospitals and 3 Care Facilities. 

Our hope is for the family to be together through this difficult time.
